Outstanding results of YCT

On 1^st October, students who attended the Youth Chinese Test in 2024 received their diplomas from the hands of our headmaster, Sr. Barea in the school auditorium. Out of the 25 candidates we presented, 14 candidates have earned higher than 190/200 (200 is a full mark), and 6 out of the 14 have even achieved 200/200 full marks!  It is a year our students getting in average the highest scores in the last 12 years. The results not only proved the standard of the Chinese language in Agora, but the passion and perseverance of our students.

Youth Chinese Test (YCT) is an international standardized test of Chinese language proficiency to assess young foreign students´ abilities to use Chinese in their daily and academic lives. Since 2014, Agora Portals has been the official examination centre on the island. Besides, the school offers a thorough 7-years extracurricular program for those who would like to pursue an advanced level of Chinese and sit for YCT.

As Miss Tsang, Agora's Chinese teacher said, she was not just teaching a foreign language but sharing a culture in a centre that "appreciates diversity and aims at shaping students into communicators, also open-minded and principled learners. That is the essence of the YCT training in Agora."
