Great success of Agora Portals' solidarity campaigns
- Social education
One more year, Agora Portals has led, together with Rotary Club Palma Almudaina, two solidarity campaigns to benefit Mallorcan non-profit organisations: Mallorca Sense Fam and Cáritas Mallorca.
During the month of December, the community came together with enthusiasm to collect non-perishable food and second-hand toys, achieving the most successful campaign to date. Rafael Barea, Head of School, delivered approximately one tonne of food and hygiene products, along with almost 1000 toys, all donated by teachers, families and pupils.
Education in values is a key pillar in Agora Portals' education. As the director highlights, "We are privileged to have grown up with our basic needs covered. If we can help other people, let's do it, because those who help are always happier than those who possess".
Although the whole Agora community took part in the campaign, it was the International Baccalaureate pupils in the CAS subject ( Creativity, Action and Service) who gave a daily boost to this solidarity action, taking charge of the collection and encouraging participation. Over the next few days, Agora Portals pupils will visit the Cáritas Mallorca facilities, where toys are being repaired and prepared for donation to families without resources.
